The Church - What it is and What it Does

The church is the people of God, called together by Christ into identifiable local congregations under His authority. It is not primarily a building or an organization, but a supernatural community belonging to the living God. Christ is its Head, His people are His body and bride, and together they are being built into a dwelling place for God. The local church gathers to worship God, proclaim and preserve His truth, make disciples, care for one another, and carry the gospel into the world.
